Information collected automatically
When you request a page, our web server may process standard connection data such as IP address, browser user agent, request path, timestamp, and response status for security and reliability. Server logs are retained according to operational needs.
We use aggregate site analytics to understand page use and diagnose failures. The analytics service may process page, browser, device, and approximate-location signals and may store a first-party browser identifier. We do not use this data to create a Tested Power Tools account or sell a named profile.
When you deliberately click a tracked retailer button, we store the product, retailer network, source path, time, a random click identifier, and a one-way short hash derived from connection and browser data. We do not store the raw IP address in the affiliate click database. This helps count clicks, diagnose broken links, and compare useful content without building a named user profile.
Saved picks
The “Save” feature uses your browser's local storage. The shortlist stays on that device and is not sent to Tested Power Tools. You can clear it with your browser's site-data controls.
Contact messages
If you submit the contact form, we store the name, email address, message, submission time, and a privacy-minimized visitor hash so we can respond and limit abuse. Do not include passwords, payment card details, health information, or other sensitive data.
Retailer websites
Retailer buttons take you to independent merchants such as eBay and to direct source listings. Those services receive the request and may use cookies or similar technology under their own privacy policies. Tested Power Tools does not control their checkout or data practices.
Sharing and sale of data
